ALTA M. LOAR

BLOOMFIELD - Alta May Loar, 91, died today at 2:35 a.m. at Davis County Hospital.

She was born Aug. 8, 1884, in Van Buren County to J. Clem and Martha Likes Steele. A Davis County resident most of her life, she was affiliated with the Baptist Church, the Troy Rebekah Lodge and the Troy Quilters Club.

She had been a housewife and a schoolteacher. For the past two years, she had lived at the Bloomfield Manor.

On Jan. 24, 1908, she married Warren Loar in Van Buren County. He preceded her in death.

Surviving are one son, Alpha of Carson City, Nev.; two daughters, Alene Barker of Bloomfield and Anna Hopkins of Pulaski; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

The service will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Wagler Funeral Home, with the Rev. J.E. McClellan officiating. Burial will be in the Troy Cemetery.

The family will be at the funeral home Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
