THOMAS SERVICE

KEOSAUQUA - The service for R. Walter Thomas, 97, of Keosauqua, who died early Wednesday, will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua. The Rev. Bill Bensheimer will officiate, and burial will be in the Pittsburg Cemetery.

The son of Riley B. and Tabitha Ellis Thomas, he was born March 20, 1878, in Van Buren County, where he spent his life farming. He had lived the past several years at Hotel Manning.

In 1905, he married Nellie Murray. She died in 1959.

Surviving are three brothers, Grover of Des Moines, Willis of Keosauqua and Vance of Milton; and one sister, Mrs. Jennie Whitcanack of Keosauqua.
