CARL A. STOCKTON

FARMINGTON - Carl A. Stockton, 78, of Farmington died Sunday at 6:30 p.m. at the St. Francis Continuation Care Facility in Burlington.

A retired farmer, he had served as a veterinarian for area farmers for several years.

He was born July 29, 1897, in La Belle, Mo., to Harrison and Harriet Day Stockton. On Oct. 4, 1921, he married Clara Horton at Quincy, Ill.

Retired, he had farmed 31 years near Argyle before moving to Farmington in 1971. He had served as a veterinarian for area farmers for several years.

Surviving are his widow; five sons, Lyle of Argyle, Donald of Des Moines, Gerald of Honolulu, Hawaii, Robert of Marion and Carl J. of Duluth, Minn.; 18 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The service will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Miller-Hofbauer Funeral Home in Donnellson, with the Rev. Dennis Kiper officiating. Burial will be in the Montrose, Iowa, Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
