Donald B. Slocum

MOUNT STERLING - The funeral for Donald Bruce Slocum, 20, Luray, Mo., was held Monday at 1 p.m. at the Mount Sterling United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Herbert DeMello officiating. Burial was in Slocum Cemetery near Greensburg, Mo.

Pedrick Funeral Home at Keosauqua was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Slocum died Saturday in Rochester, Minn.

He was born Oct. 1, 1955, at Keosauqua to Frank and Lois Rosenbalm Slocum. He spent most of his life in the Mount Sterling community, and attended Van Buren Community High School in Keosauqua.

He was employed as a traveling mechanic by the Burlington Northern Railroad.

On June 8, 1974, he married Rhonda DaVolt in Memphis, Mo. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Daniel Bruce at home; his parents of Galesburg, Ill.; a brother, Brian, and a sister, Penny, of the parental home, and two other sisters, Mrs. Pat Sherrod of Bonaparte and Mrs. Pam Robinson of Keosauqua; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Rosenbalm of Smithshire, Ill.
