Nellie M. Baker
SELMA - Mrs. Nellie M. Baker, 90, of Selma died Monday at 10:45 a.m. at Jefferson Square Manor in Ottumwa, where she had lived since April of 1974.
She was born May 7, 1885, at Bloomfield, Ohio, to Alonzo and Salle Belle Cooper Hubbell. On Aug. 9, 1906, she married George N. Baker at West Plains, Mo. They moved to Selma in 1912, and he died in 1967.
Surviving are two sons, George A. of Selma and Albert of Fairfield; one daughter, Mrs. Marybelle Hootman of Douds; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one brother, John Hubbell of Centerburg, Ohio.
The service will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, with the Rev. Donald Strauch officiating. Burial will be in the Iowaville Cemetery near Selma.
