LAWRENCE HEIDEN
Lawrence E. Heiden, 77, retired painter, died Friday night, Aptil 18, 1975, at Jefferson County Hospital, Fairfield.
He was born December 24, 1897 at Merrill, the son of George and Mary Dennler Heiden. He married Florence Smith Calhoun June 19, 1931.
He was a member of the Birmingham United Methodist Church. A World War I veteran, he was a member of Haney-Brannon American Legion Post 181 and he received the French Croix DeGuerre with palm, the Distinguished Service Cross and the Purple Heart.
Surviving: The wife; a stepson, Frank Calhoun, Des Moines; brother, George, Overland Park, Kansas; sister, Mrs. Irene Martini, Longmont, Colorado; two step-grandsons.
Funeral was 2 p.m. Monday, at Birmingham United Methodist Church, Rev. David Kennedy. Burial Maple Hill cemetery.
