GLEN C. ABERNATHY

Glen C. Abernathy, 69, of Marion, died Friday, April 11, in Mercy Hospital, Cedar Rapids.

He was born August 26, 1905, in Van Buren County, the son of John and Icy Stott Abernathy. On March 13, 1926, he married Beulah White who died January 13, 1941. He married Evelyn Kenney on August 16, 1968. He was a retired barber who practiced for 50 years in Bonaparte, Stockport, and Coralville; a WW II veteran and a member of American Legion Post 721, Coralville.

Surviving: Two daughters, Mrs. Douglas Huebner, West Point; Mrs. James Lohman, Cedar Rapids; two sons, Richard, West Burlington; John, Coralville; 14 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; a brother, Harley, Bloomfield; two step-children, Gary Kenney, Marion, and Mrs. John McGowan, West Branch.

Services were at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Behner Funeral Home, Fairfield; Rev. David R. Kennedy; military rites at Barker cemetery, Pulaski.
