MRS. MABEL E. SPARKS

Mrs. Mabel E. Sparks, 84, of Keosauqua, died at 1 p.m. Monday, March 24, at the Fort Madison nursing care center.

She was born July 17, 1890, near Bonaparte, the daughter of Thomas C. and Sarah Gould Mitchell. In 1914, she married Clark Cartnal in Keosauqua; he died in 1958. She married William T. Sparks in 1967.

Mrs. Sparks was a member of the Keosauqua Christian church.

Surviving: The husband; two daughters, Mrs. Darrell Cecil, Donnellson, Mrs. Clayton Duncan, Farmington; one stepson, Sidney Sparks, Keosauqua; one brother, Don Mitchell, Bonaparte; eight grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.

Funeral was at 2 p.m. Wednesday, at the Pedrick funeral home, Keosauqua, Rev. Dan Mast; Thompson cemetery, south of Bonaparte.
