LLOYD H. DAVIS

Lloyd H. Davis, son of Elijah and Ellan Laird Davis, was born March 16, 1902, south of Selma and departed this life Wednesday, March 26, 1975. He was pronounced dead at Ottumwa Hospital, following a heart attack at his home.

On April 22, 1925, he married Gleda Dooley at Keosauqua. They farmed in the Selma community until moving to town in 1959.

Remaining to cherish his memory are Mrs. Davis, their daughters, Mrs. Doris Hartwig of Jamaica, Iowa, and Mrs. Donna Spees of Selma, sons-in-law, Stanley Hartwig and Richard Spees, six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Chloe Simpson of Britt, a brother, Orville, of Thunder Bay, Ontario, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.

Lloyd will be remembered as a devoted husband and fathe rand grandfather, a good neighbor and friend.

Funeral services were held Friday, March 28, 1975, at 1:30 p.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, with the Rev. Donald Strauch, United Methodist Pastor officiating. Pall bearers were Ralph, Ritz, Rex Ritz, Lloyd Lanman, Oscar Pencil, Bruce Blackburn, and Verl Bickford. Interment was in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
