Mrs. Clara Sprouse, 83, Farmington, died at 11:05 a.m. Tuesday, March 11, in Van Buren County Memorial Hospital, Keosauqua.
She was born January 30, 1892, in Indiana, the daughter of John G. and Anna Rail Watkins. She married Burtis Gillmore in 1912. After his death, she married Ed Sprouse. A resident of Farmington many years, she was a former nurse.
Surviving: A daughter, Sybil Raines, Davenport; a stepson, Paul Sprouse, Medill, Missouri; three stepdaughters, Edna Aslin and Eula Barnes, Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Jane Jones, Patoka, Illinois; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral was Thursday, 3:30 p.m., at the Miller-Hofbauer Funeral Home; Croton cemetery.
