Clyde M. Carr

FAIRFIELD - Clyde M. Carr, 73, died Sunday at 4:30 a.m. at Jefferson County Hospital.

He was born March 25, 1901, at Libertyville to Stephen and Mary Alice Gardner Carr. On July 25, 1934, he married Edna L. Steele at Blakesburg.

He had lived at Douds before moving to the Fairfield community 23 years ago. A retired butcher, he had worked in locker plants in southeast Iowa.

Surviving are his widow; three sons, Earl of Fairfield, Gene of Evanston, Ill., and Glen of Douds; one daughter, Mrs. Joan Gilliland of Ottumwa; five grandchildren; two brothers, Charles of Eldon and Thomas of California; and one sister, Mrs. Noble McIntosh of Eldon.

The service will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Weston Behner Funeral Home, with the Rev. Wayne L. Bartruff officiating. Burial will be in Fell Cemetery at Libertyville.
