Funeral services for Miss Nell Seaman of Chicago were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Burnett funeral home, with the Rev. Reynolds C. Murdock in charge. Burial was in the Fellows Cemetery, Keosauqua, Iowa.
Miss Nell Seaman, youngest child of Robert and Margaret Jones King-Seaman was born Dec. 9, 1885 and passed away July 10, 1947, following a long illness.
She underwent a major operation in the Garfield Park Hospital in Chicago in October 1946, and another opeartion at the same hospital on June 7, 1947. She was attended by a nephew, Jesse E. Seaman, and a niece, Mrs. Irene Ellis McBurney, throughout her long struggle.
Miss Seaman taught school in the public schools of Van Buren County for 19 years. Later after graduating from business course at Ft. Madison, she went to Chicago and was employed as a bookkeeper and stenographer by different business firms. She has made her home in Chicago since 1925.
She was a Christian, sincere in her religious faith. She leaves to mourn her passing, one sister, Mrs. Charles Ellis of Mt. Sterling, an aunt, Mrs. G. W. Davidson, Des Moines, serveral nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
