Died at her home in Vernon township, Van Buren County, Iowa, on Monday, July 9, 1894, Mrs. Margaret J. DeHart, aged 54 years and 2 months. The deceased was the daughter of the late Hector Shriver, Esq., and was born in Armstrong county, Pennsylvania May 9, 1840. In her early girlhood she came with her parent to Iowa and settled in the community where her quiet, beautiful life was passed and from which she was called to her final rest.

On the 28 day of February, 1866 she was united in marriage to Mr. George DeHart. Six children, four sons and two daughters, came to bless this union; of these two sons and the daughters with their father remain behind in life, mourning the loss of a loved and loving wife and mother. Early in life she was happily converted and gave her heart to Christ and united with the United Presbyterian church. In this communion she remained until the winter of 1889-90 when in the company with her two youngest living children at the Center Chapel M.E. Church she consecrated her pure sweet life anew to the service of her Master.

Her funeral took place from the Center Chapel M.E. Church at 10 o'clock on Tuesday, July 10, services conducted by Rev. C.W. Wilson of Martinsburg, Iowa, a former pastor.
