Helen Cocherell

Helen Marguerite, Cocherell, 79, of Farmington died at 10:40 p.m. Sunday, June 24 in Van Buren Co. Memorial hospital at Keosauqua, after a lenghty illness. She was born February 7, 1894, in Farmington, the daughter of Rufus and Ida Krenmeyer Corns.

On January 17, 1917, she married Frank O. Cocherell at Farmington. She spent most of her life in Farmington and had been a practical nurse at several hospitals. She was a member of the Farmington United Methodist church, the United Methodist Women and the Order of Eastern Star.

She is survived by six sons: Francis E. of West Covina, Calif.; Harry R. of Glendora, Calif.; Richard B. of San Dimas, Calif.; Thomas G. of Durate, Calif.; William J. of Farmington and Ronald J. of Middletown, Ia.; one sister, Mrs. E.C. Ginthner of Mt. Vernon, Wash., sixteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three sisters, one brother and one grandchild.

The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, in the Miller-Hofbauer Funeral Home, Farmington, with the Rev. Harold Schirm of Winfield officiating. Burial was in Greenglade cemetery.

Memorials to the Farmington United Methodist Church may be left at the Miller-Hofbauer Funeral Home in Farmington.
