Rena Sophia Gillis, 85, of the Elm View Care Center, died at 3:45 a.m. Thursday, May 8, 1989 at the Burlington Medical Center.

Born March 9, 1904 in Cantril, she was the daughter of Harry and Sadie Cox Magorian. She married Cyril Rinebarger in 1920. He preceded her in death. She then married Henry L. Kimmel.
She then married Harry Gillis May 23, 1953, in Gladstone, Ill. He died March 19, 1983. She was a homemaker and was of the Methodist faith.

Surviving are five sons, Don Rineberger, Fairfield, and Joe Kimmel, Lonnie Kimmel, Francis Kimmel and David Kimmel all of Burlington; five daughters, Betty Mae Meade, Forsyth, Mo., Mrs. Florence (Paul) White, Coralville, Mrs. Mary Lou (Donald) Haynes, Bowling Green, Mo., Mrs. Lois (Paul) Swank, Kalona, and Mrs. Barbie (Norman) Siefken, West Burlington; one brother Clarence Eugene Magorian; 29 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

Services were held on Saturday, May 20, 1989 at 10:30 a.m. at Lunning Chapel with the Rev. James Lange officiating. Burial was in Carman Cemetery.
