Mrs. Guelph A. Smith

Mrs. Guelph A. Smith, 61, of Farmington died at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, April 15 in Mercy Hospital, Iowa City.

She was born October 2, 1912, at Covina, Calif., the daughter of Fred and Edna Revard Aschenbrenner. On January 14, 1941, in Pella, Ia., she was married to Doyle Smith of Farmington. She spent most of her life in Farmington, except for a few years in Iowa City. She was a retired school teacher.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church at Farmington and of Chapter O, P.E.O.

She is survived by two daughters, Kay Smith of Iowa City and Mrs. Bill (Geri) Rider of Farmington; one sister, Mrs. Yvonne Blommers of Iowa City; two aunts, Mrs. Geraldine Terry and Mrs. Ruth Van Sprankren, both of California. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.

The body has been willed to the University of Iowa. A cancer memorial has been established and donations may be left at the Miller-Hofbauer Funeral Home in Farmington.
