Mrs. Amelia M. Smith

Mrs. Amelia M. Smith, 92, 1109 Avenue G, Ft. Madison, died at 10:15 a.m. Friday, April 13, in Sacred Heart hospital. She had been ill several months.

Mrs. Smith was born April 13, 1881, in Germanville, Iowa. She had lived in Fort Madison 42 years.

In January 1930 at Ft. Madison she was married to William C. Smith, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Smith was a member of the St. John United Church of Christ.

Her only survivors are nephews and nieces, including Herbert and Albert Hoyer and Mrs. Clara Howes, all of Hillsboro, Mrs. Freda Nyberg, Farmington, and Mrs. Dora Pickard, Mt. Pleasant.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters. Her parents were the Rev. Rudolph and Henrietta Paul Pfister.

The funeral was held at the Brant-Clements Chapel at 1:30 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Robert L. Rotgers officiated. Burial was in the Farmington cemetery.
