Leroy M. Harward

Leroy M. Harward, 77, died Saturday, April 7 of an apparent heart attack. His tractor had run off into a ditch on old Iowa 2 near Milton.

He was born March13, 1896, near Okolona, Miss., to David and Mary Martin Harward. He married Lala Miller on Mach(March) 14, 1917, at Douds. She died in 1970. He married Mrs. Daisy Work on Dec. 27, 1970. She survives.

Also surviving are five daughters, Winnfred Conner of Cedar Rapids, Lillian Cormier of San Diego, Calif., Rosemary Guinn of Whitehall, Wisc., Wilda Hunter of Columbus, Ohio and Roberta Conrad of Aroma Park, Ill.; two sons, Carl and John of Kansas City, Mo.; 26 grandchildren; 11 greatgrandchildren; one brother, Lowell and one sister, Beatrice Schultz, both of Cantril.

The funeral service was held Tuesday, April 10 at 2 p.m. at the Christian Church, conducted by the Rev. Gerald Caughron and the Rev. Dale Church. Burial was in Sunnyside Cemetery in Milton.
