John F. Fleming

John F. Fleming, 60, of Hillsboro, passed away Friday, Feb. 16 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. He had been a patient there for five months.

Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 19 at 2 P.M. at the Powell Funeral Home in Wellman, Rev. Wayne Kamm officiated. Burial was in Wellman cemetery.

He was born Nov. 22, 1912 in Wellman to Lauren and Audley Waite Fleming. He graduated from the Wellman High School in 1929. He was married Nov. 12, 1945 to Ruby Potter in Iowa City, Iowa. They lived in Hillsboro all of their married life. He had been an employee of Standard Oil Co. and also later years was bookkeeper for Hillsboro Elevator. He was a veteran of W.W. II, a member of Hillsboro American Legion, 40 & 8 Club, a member of Mt. Pleasant VFW and member of Bellmont Masonic Lodge in Hillsboro.
