Mrs. Myrtle Jack

Mrs. Myrtle Jack, 73, of Keosauqua, died at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17 in Sacred Heart Hospital, Ft. Madison, where she had been for several weeks.

She was born May 20, 1899 at Pittsburg, the daughter of Shadrack and Anna Wix Cole and spent most of her life in Van Buren County. She married Roy Godown in 1915 and he died in 1917. She married Lee Thomas in 1919 and he died in 1944. Her marriage to Howard Jack took place in 1947 and he preceded her in death in March, 1970.

She is survived by three sons, Henry Thomas of Indianola, Wilbur Thomas of Des Moines, Keith Thomas of Ft. Madison; six daughters, Helen Stebbins of Harrison, Ark., Minnie Hague of Des Moiones, Opal Spillman of Paragould, Ark., Elsie Brechcount of Ft. Madison, June Haskell of Norfolk, Va., Ruth Newbold of Keosauqua; one brother, Ed Cole of Ottumwa, and by many grandchildren.

Catcott Funeral Home had charge of arrangements with the funeral held Dec. 20 at the Keosauqua Christian Church. The Rev. James M. Ford officiated. Burial was in Harness Cemetery.
