F. Gilbert Simpson

F. Gilbert Simpson, 73, of Stronghurst rural, died at 1:45 p.m. Friday, Dec. 22, in the LaMoine Christian Nursing Home, Roseville, Ill.

He was born Aug. 30, 1899, at Farmington, Ia. the son of Lawrence E. and Mildred Perry Simpson. He married Maxine Lovitt at Galesburg, Ill. on may 10, 1922.

Surviving: The wife; one son, Milton, Stronghurst; two sisters, Mrs. Frank (Clidean) Edmonds, Lomax, Mrs. H.D. (Mable) Van Tassell, Newark, Ohio; one brother, Perry, Mobridge, S.D.; and two grandchildren.

The funeral fas(was) held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 24, at the Banks & Beals funeral home, La Harpe. Rev. Marvin Snapp, officiated. Burial was in Stronghurst cemetery. A memorial has been established to the Stronghurst United Methodist church organ fund.
