Mrs. Elizabeth Bruce

Mrs. Elizabeth Bonar Bruce, 78, passed away Dec 13 at the home of her son, Robert in Washington, D.C.

She was the daughter of Scott and Venie Helwig Bonar and was raised in the Milton community and graduated from the Milton High School in 1913.

She had been in poor health for some time and had accompanied her son Robert home in late November to spend the winter.

She married A.W. (Bert) Bruce, who passed away in 1940. They were the parents of five children: Robert of Washington, D.C., Mathew of Jackson, Mich., Albert of Alabama, Mrs. Mary Boyd of Maryland and Elizabeth of Bismark, North Dakota.

The body was taken to the Jay Funeral Home in Ottumwa and the funeral was held Monday at the First Presbyterian Church with burial in the Ottumwa Cemetery.
