Earl M. Nelson

Earl M. Nelson, 86, of Hillsboro died at 5:05 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, in Van Buren County Memorial hospital, Keosauqua, after a lengthy illness.

He was born April 9, 1886 at Canton, Ill., the son of David C. and Ella Moran Nelson.

He married Anna Ogren of Blandinsville, Ill. on Dec. 22, 1911. She preceded him in death.

He spent many years on a farm near Hillsboro. He was a member of the Christian church at Hillsboro.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Vance (Violet) Kimmell of Fall Brook, Calif.; three brothers, Leo Nelson of Farmington, Caryl Nelson of Canton, Ill., S. Boyer Nelson of Antioch, Ill.; one sister, Hazel Peters of Hampton, Ill.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.

The funeral service will be Friday, Dec. 15, at 2 p.m., in the Hillsboro Christian church. The Rev. L.H. Smith will officiate. Burial will be in the Hillsboro cemetery. The body is at the Miller-Hofbauer Funeral Home, Farmington.
