Bert L. Humphrey

Bert L. Humphrey, 79, rural Mt. Pleasant died Monday Dec. 4 in Ottumwa hospital. He was born at Round Prairie September 17, 1893, the son of James and Gertrude Chapman Humphrey and married Maggie Hudson in 1913. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Round Prairie Baptist Church.

Surviving are the wife, one daughter, Mrs. Hazel Heckenberg, four sons, Arlo, Farmington, Earl, Mt. Pleasant, Harold and Howard, both of Burlington, 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

The funeral was at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Round Prairie Baptist Church, burial in Lambeth cemetry. The Beatty-Jennings funeral home, Salem, was in charge of arrangements.
