Mrs. Jeanne Nelson

Mrs. Jeanne B. Nelson, 63, of Birmingham, died Saturday, Dec. 2, in Rochester, Minnesota.

She was born in Winfield, April 15, 1909, the daughter of H.H. and Hattie Wood Bailey. She married Harlan Nelson in 1927. She was a member of the Birmingham United Methodist church, the WSCS, and served on the Birmingham Library board for over 25 years.

Surviving are her husband; two sons, Don Nelson of Lander, Wyo. and Thomas Nelson with the U.S. Navy; two daughters, Mrs. Robert Longor of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. James Stump of Elgin; seven grandchildren; a brother, Dan Bailey of Mason City, and a sister, Mrs. Ruth Hill of Tucson, Arizona.

The funeral service was held Tuesday, Dec. 5 at 2 p.m. at the Birmingham United Methodist church with the Rev. Kenneth Suetterlin officiating. Burial was in Maple Hill cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established for the Birmingham Public Library.
