Earnest Axtell

Earnest Axtell, 80, Bonaparte, died at 9 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, at the Hainline Rest Home at Bonaparte.

He was born July 27, 1892, in Sullivan county, Mo., the son of Ed and Rachael Holloway Axtell. He married Sarah Mack Oct. 21, 1911, at Trenton, Mo. He had lived in the Bonaparte area about 30 years and was a retired farmern.

Surviving are two sons, Linden of Kansas City, Mo. Gene of Radcliffe, Iowa; two daughters, Mrs. Wilma Ishmael of San Diego, Calif. and Mrs. Rosalene Wixom of Bonaparte; a brother, Hugh of Kansas City, Kans.; a sister, Stella Vale of Kirksville, Mo.; 16 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

The funeral service was held Saturday, Sept. 9 at 2 p.m. at the Bonaparte Baptist church. Burial was in the Bonaparte cemetery.
