Georgia Darnell

SELMA - Georgia Darnell, 83, of San Diego, Calif. and formerly of near Selma, died Sunday at 5:20 a.m. following a two-week illness.

She was born in Davis County Sept. 14, 1888, the daughter of Thomas C. and Della Hanshaw and was reared in Iowaville.

She is survived by one son, Frank, of Santee, Calif.; three grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Cleo Dulin of Selma and Mrs. Hazel Winters of Ottumwa; and three brothers, Guy of Keosauqua, Wilbur of Burlington and Glenn of San Diego, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Darnell.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Bonom Brothers Mortuary and burial will be in the Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in California.
