Emma Belle Miller

Mrs. Emma Belle Miller, 88, of rural Keosauqua, died Friday, October 15, at 12:30 p.m. at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital, where she had been a patient for a week.

The daughter of George and Amanda Sullivan Rupe, she was born, April 1, 1883, near Mt. Sterling. Her life was spent in Van Buren County. On Jan. we, 1908, whe(sp) was married to Curtis E. Miller at Mount Sterling. He died in 1952.

A daughter, a stepson and two grandsons also preceded her in death. She was the last of a large family. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Grace Huff of Keosauqua, a son, Ernest Miller of Riverside, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Services were held Sunday, October 17, at 2 p.m. at the Keosauqua Christian Church with the Rev. Millard Marshall and the Rev. James Douglas officiating. Interment was in the Pittsburg Cemetery. Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds was in charge of arrangements.
