Bernard H. Sanders

Bernard H. Sanders, 88, of Denver, Colo. died there Oct. 16. He had been in failing health for some time.

He was born Oct. 26, 1882, at Houghton and was a life resident of the Houghton-West Point communities until two years ago when he moved to Colorado.

He married Mary Edith Rice in June of 1914. She survives.

Mr. Sanders was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church at West Point.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are three sons, Leon of Denver, Colo., Charles of East Lansing, Mich., Harry of Lakewood, Colo.; two daughters, Miss Rosemary Sanders of Lakewood, Colo. and Mrs. Margaret Yaeger of Glendora, Calif.; one sister, Miss Elizabeth Sanders of Riverside, Ia.; and 17 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and four sisters.

The funeral service was held Tuesday, Oct. 19, at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Catholic church, West Point. The Rev. Francis Lenoch officiated. Burial was in the Calvary cemetery, West Point.

The Link Funeral Home, West Point, was in charge of arrangements. The recitation of the Rosary was held there Monday at 8 p.m. by the parish.
