Willaard J. "Fid" Cocherell,75, passed away at his home in Bonaparte on January 29,2005.
Fid was born March 3,1929 in Bonaparte to Willard C and Helen Noske Cocherell. He married Elizabeth Specht in 1950 in Farmington and later married Louise Simpkins in 1975.
A life long resident of Bonaparte he graduated from Bonaparte High School in 1947. He servd four years in the U.S. Air Force. He worked for Jack White's Hatchery in Farmington and retired as manager of the Fairfield Glove Company, Bonaparte in 1991.He was a member of the Bonaparte Lions, Bonaparte American Legion, Bonaparte Cemetery Association, River View Country Club and served as mayor of Bonaparte. Fid loved golfing and the outdoors.
He is survived by two children Randy of Durango, Colorado and Ronda of Joplin, Missouri;two grandchildren, Josh and Dusty, his first wife Elizabeth and a niece and nephew.
He was preceded in dath by his parents, his brother Glen, and his second wife, Louise.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00p.m. Sunday February 6,2005 at the United church in Bonaparte. A luncheon will follow at the Bonaparte Opera House around 3:00 p.m. for family and friends. Burial will be at a later date.
