W.W. "Pete" and Velma L. Baughman

Velma Leota Baughman, daughter of Edward R. and Jessie (Stone) Blasi, was born on September 16, 1907, at Attica, Iowa. Warren W. "Pete" Baughman, son of William C. and Anna (Augspurger) Baughman, was born on June 5, 1907, at Pulaski, Iowa. They both died within four days at the age of 71 at Davis Hospital, she on May 2, and he on May 6, 1979.

Except for her childhood, they both resided in Davis County, Iowa, all their lives. He was a Standard Oil bulk agent for about ten years, and for 50 years, until the time of his death, he was an agent for State Farm Insurance. They were members of the Pulaski Mennonite Church, where she was received as a member in 1917, and he in 1921.

On January 1, 1927, they were married at the Mennonite Parsonage in Pulaski, with Rev. W.W. Miller officiating. A daughter and three sons were born to this union.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Charles Walter, Arthur Edward, and Robert Kenneth. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and two sisters, Esther Fordemwalt and Helen Litwiller. Preceding them both in death were two sons, Warren William and Keith Robert, and a son-in-law.

She is survived by two sisters, Esther Delzell of Mesa, Arizona, and Bonita Augspurger of Bloomfield, Iowa. He is survived by a sister, Edna Swartzendruver, and a brother, Harold C. Baughman, both of Bloomfield, Iowa. Surviving them both are two children, Norma Jean Wheaton of Pulaski, Iowa, and J. Dean Baughman of Bloomfield, Iowa, five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Funeral services were held at Wagler Funeral Home, Bloomfield, Iowa, on May 4 and May 8 respectively, with S. Roy Kaufman officiating. The burials were in the Pulaski Cemetery.
