Frank B. Beatty

Frank B. Beatty, 83, died Tuesday, July 11, 1986 at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital in Keosauqua.

He was born near Woodburn, in Clarke County, Iowa, Nov. 4, 1902 to William S. and Pearl Hitchcock Beatty. At the age of eight, he moved to the New Sharon Area, and attended the South Browntown school.

On Dec. 25, 1927, he married Irene Coral Darland at Montezuma, Iowa. In June, 1928 they moved to Oskaloosa.

During his working life, Mr. Beatty was employed by the Farmers Creamery, at the Oskaloosa Y.M.C.A. and Y.W.C.A., and then at William Penn College as a carpenter for 10 years until retiring in 1970.

He was a long time member of the Central United Methodist Church and a member of the Council Lodge #644, A.F. & A.M. in Oskaloosa.

The Beattys made their home in Oskaloosa for many years until moving into Senior Citizens Housing Center in Keosauqua.

He is survived by his wife, Irene of Keosauqua; one daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Lester Findley II of Milton; two grandsons, Lester Grant Findley III and Kevin Frank Findley both of Milton; two brothers, Alvin Beatty of Newton and Merle Beatty of Oskaloosa; and one sister, Hazel Gorsuch of Oskaloosa.

Mr. Beatty was preceded in death by his parents, two infant sons, 1 brother and one sister.
