Eva M. Barker

Eva M. Barker, 92, died at 10:40 a.m. Monday at Bloomfield Manor.

She was a homemaker and was born in Davis County, northwest of Troy, on Feb. 25, 1889 to William and Amanda Downing Birchmier. She was a resident of Davis and Wapello Counties all of her life. She was affiliated with the Ottumwa Baptist Temple.

On May 14, 1921, she married Joseph Barker in Davis County.

Survivors include four daughters, Evelyn Carlson of Bloomfield, Mildred Daugherty of Cedar Rapids, Verla Nelson of Ottumwa and JoAnn McClurg of Bloomfield; three stepsons, Edward of Fairfield, Howard of Ottumwa and Richard of Lakewood Calif.; on sister, ollie Head of Milton; 14 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and five step great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one son, Marvin in 1946

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Wagler Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Quentin Johnson. The casket will be closed at the begginning of the service. Burial will be in the Rouch Cemetery.
