Donald F. Barker

Donald F. Barker, 70, route 1, Bloomfield, died at his home, northwest of Troy, early Monday.

He was born June 16, 1910 in Davis County to Harry and Sara Christy Barker. He was a farmer, trucker and a former rural school teacher. He was a member of the Bloomfield Christian Church.

On Oct. 5, 1930, he married Alene Loar. she survives.

Also surviving are one son, Leon of rural Bloomfield; one daughter, Donna Downing of rural Bloomfield; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Clemmie Downing of Bloomfield; and one brother, Dewey Barker of Burlington.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Wilda Roberts; a granddaughter, a great-granddaughter, and a brother, Gene.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Priester Funeral Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Don Slaughter. The casket will be closed at the beginning of the service. Burial will be in the Troy Cemetery.

A memorial has been established to the student nursing program at the Davis County Hospital.
