Carl Aeschliman

Carl Aeschliman, 74, 307 S. West, Bloomfield, died at 10:10 am Friday at the Davis County Hospital. He was born June 12, 1910 in Davis County to Christian and Clara Etta Weede Aeschliman. He had worked for John Morrell and Co. for 23 years, retiring in 1973. He was a farmer, a member of the Bloomfield Christian Church and the Eagles Lodge. He married Helen Frances Beggs on Dec. 14, 1930 in Davis County.

Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Marguerite Wilburn of Fairfield, Dorothy jo Swanson of Ollie, Eldina Stockham and Nannette McBride, both of Bloomfield; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Eugene of Bloomfield and Wendell of Ottumwa; and two sisters, Florence Battin of Bloomfield and Frances Petefish.

The funeral was held Monday at the Wagler Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Don Slaughter and the Rev. Steven Albrecht. Burial was in the IOOF Cemetery at Bloomfield. A memorial has been established to the Bloomfield Christian Church, the First Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society.
