Nettie Bulah Ward, daughter of W. W. and S. A. Ward, was born Nov. 26, 1879, near Bentonsport,Iowa, where she grew to womanhood. She was married to S. R. Henry, April 26, 1899. To them was born a lovely litter [sic] daughter, Feb. 24th, 1900, which passed to the Better Land, Sunday morning March 11th. Nettie possessed a kind and loving disposition which endeared her to all with whom she became acquainted, bearing her sickness with remarkable patience, never murmuring, following the example of her Savior, and her long afflicted mother, who just four short weeks before was laid to rest. In the fall of 1898 she united with the Presbyterian church, at Bonaparte, remaining a faithful member until she was called home March, 14, 1900. She leaves to mourn her untimely departure a husband, an aged father, four sisters and two brothers, besides many friends and acquaintaces [sic].

The battle fought, the victory won,
Blest was the path she trod,
For she espoused the Glorious Cause,
In prompt obedience to the laws
Of the Eternal God."

The funeral was held at the Presbyterian church, Bentonsport, Friday morning; sservices [sic] conducted by her pastor, Rev. W. H. Scofield.

ADD'L INFO: Nettie's parents are said to be William W. Ward (his obituary can be found elsewhere on this forum) and Susannah Aurelia Leighty. I would appreciate any additional information on this family.
