Bailey dies in Florida

MOUNT PLEASANT Bernard Bailey, 68, Mount Pleasant, died early Monday in Bradenton, Fla.

The service will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Mount Pleasant with Dr. Robert P. Robinson and the Rev. Neil H. Cross officiating. Interment will be at 2:30 p.m. at the Spencer Cemetery, north of Stockport.

The family will receive friends at Weir Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday. Memorials are to the First United Methodist Church in Mount Pleasant.

The son of Henry P. and Estella Axtell Bailey, he was born March 25, 1912 near Stockport. He married Marjorie M. Donald who survives.

He was last employed by REC of Mount Pleasant for 17 years before his retirement.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, James B. Bailey, Montrose, and Ronald B. Bailey, Sterling, Colo., two daughters, antoninette Morehouse, Lamoni, and Tanya Evans, Midwest City, Okla., one brother, Chauncey Bailey, Boonville, Ark., and a sister Jeanne Cuffel, Olean, Mo.; nine grandchildren and one great-grandson.
