James Silver, 60, dies

Services for James E. Silver, 60, will be held Monday at 2:30 p.m. at the Raymond Funeral Home. The Rev. Kermit Black will officiate with interment in Evergreen Cemetery.

Silver died Thursday afternoon at Veteran hospital in Iowa City. He is a veteran of World War II and a watchmaker and owner of Silver Watch Repairs. The family home was at 707 Kirkwood.

James Silver was born November 5, 1919 in Batavia, the son of Marion and Ede Watson Silver. He was married December 24, 1962 in Stockport to Beulah Copeland, who survives.

He is also survived by three sisters, Mrs. Weldy Black, Fairfield; Mrs. Walter Lawson, Jensen Beach, Fla. and Mary Tyson, Rogers, Ark.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
