E. Russell rites set

Graveside services for Earl L. Russell, 79, 30 E. Broadway, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Spencer Cemetery near Stockport with the Rev. David R. Kennedy officiating.

Visitation will be Thursday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Behner Funeral Home.

Russell died Tuesday morning at the Nelson Nursing Home following an illness during the past five months.

Earl L. Russell was born June 30, 1901, at Donnellson, the son of M.M. and Emma Ott Russell. He was married July 20, 1933, to Opal Van Auken at Bonaparte. She survives.

A retired merchant, he moved to Fairfield over 35 years ago from Stockport. He was a member of the Elks Lodge.

In addition to his widow, Russell is survived by two daughters, Sharon Stevens, Kingwood, Texas, and Christy Mougin, La Crosse, Wisc.; eight grandchildren and a brother, Glen Russell, Fairfield.
