DEATH OF MRS. JOHN WATKINS

Monday night, May 20, at her home in Vernon township, Van Buren county, Iowa, Mrs. John Watkins died after over a year of intense suffering with dropsy, the burial being Wednesday of this week in the Center Chapel cemetery, services being at the church at 11 a. m., in charge of Rev. Blagg of Mt. Sterling. She was a good woman. Her age, we are informed, was about 72. An obituary will likely appear later.

NOTE: Center Chapel Church & Cemetery transcript from 1973 shows:
WATKINS, John March 7, 1836 - May 7, 1917 & WATKINS, Ann December 10, 1839 - May 20, 1907 among other Watkins buried there.
