Horrell E. McIntosh

Horrell Elmo McIntosh, 69, Fairfield, Calif., formerly of the Fort Madison area, died at 10:15 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, at the Travis Air Force Base, Calif., hospital.

He was born April 8, 1910, at Keosauqua. He had lived in Fairfield for the past 15 years. A former employee of the DuPont Co. here, he was a retired veteran of the Air Force, serving during World War II, the Korea War and the Vietnam War.

He was of the Lutheran faith. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Sergeant's Club.

On Nov. 11, 1930, at Carthage, Ill., he married Alice Hazel Wyrick, who died Oct. 5, 1961. On Sept. 20, 1962, at Fairfield, Calif., he married Eva May Rydberg, who survives.

Also surviving are a son, James Elmo McIntsoh, Deer Ridge, Mo.; three daughters, Alice D. Robbins, Mrs. Glenn (Mary Jane) Harkey and Mrs. Vincent (Jeneale) Zumdome, all of Fort Madison; a brother, Dr. Gene (Shorty) McIntosh, Keosauqua; two sisters, Mrs. Lloyd (Margaret) Gray and Mrs. Russell (Lola) Martin, both of Keosauqua; and 21 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers. His parents were Will and Minnie Luke McIntosh.

The body is being brought to the Barr Memorial Chapel here. Final rites are pending.

A memorial is being established. Contributions may be made at the Barr Memorial Chapel.
