Earl Eugene Payne, son of Benjamin and Frances Payne, was born Jan. 1, 1886 and departed this life Oct. 9, 1948.

He was married on Dec. 24, 1909 to Eunice Omie Hales, who preceded him in death Oct. 18, 1946.

To this union one son, Stanley, was born.

Survivors include the son; one brother, Byron of Excelsior Springs, Mo.; two sisters, Mrs. Clarence Cazzell, Rock Island, Ill., Mrs. Jesse Baird, Hiawatha, Kan.; and several nieces and nephews.

He spent the greater part of his life as a farmer in Iowa and the vicinity of Excelsior Springs, Mo.

Earl was friendly, jovial disposition and will be sadly missed.

Funeral services were held at Excelsior Springs on Monday, Oct. 11 at 2 p.m. Graveside services were Tuesday, Oct 12 at 2 p.m. conducted by Rev. Allen Magill at Center Chapel Cemetery.
