Mrs. Sarah Morris, died Oct. 14, 1943, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mary Bonser, in Mt. Pleasant. She had been ill about four months. Funeral services were held Sunday, Oct. 17, in Hillsboro Baptist Church, Rev. E. E. Niederhuth officiating. Burial in Hillsboro cemetery.
Her husband, Alvin C. Morris, died several years ago, and one son, Alvia, also preceded her in death.
The surviving children are Rex Morris and Mrs. Bonser of Mt. Pleasant, Everett of Grand Island, Neb., Leo of Burlington and George of Kahoka, Mo. One half brother, James Syfert, and ten grandchildren also survive her passing.
Sarah Lenora Jordan, daughter of William and Mary Smutz Jordan, was born August 8, 1862, in Van Buren County, Iowa. She had attained the age of 81 years, 2 months and 6 days when she died, Oct. 14th. She was united in marriage with Alvin Clay Morris on Nov. 15, 1888.
During her early teens she confessed her faith in Christ as her personal Savior and later became a member and active worker in the Baptist church of Hillsboro where she retained her membership until the time of her death. She was also a member of the Eastern Star lodge of Hillsboro.
