Mrs. Mary Troutman

Mrs. Mary Lurnea Troutman [note: correct spelling "Lurena"|, 69, died Sunday, Jan. 19 at 5 p.m. at University Hospitals in Iowa City. She had been in failing health six months and seriously ill two months.

The funeral will be Wednesday, Jan. 22 at 2 p.m. at the Farmington Methodist Church with the Rev. Leroy Moore officiating. Burial will be in Greenglade Cemetery.

Born May 8, 1894, in Illinois, she was the daughter of George and Elizabeth Jane Hill Totten. She was reared at Mount Sterling and spent most of her adult life in Bonaparte and Farmington.

She was a member of the Methodist Church and Woman's Society of Christian Service and American Legion Auxiliary.

She was married to James E. Troutman Dec. 21, 1911, in Keosauqua. He died Dec. 26, 1961.

Survivors include two sons, Elmer of Bonaparte and Joseph of Wever; four daughters, Mrs. Pauline Steeples of Bonaparte, Mrs. Esther Lamborn of Farmington, Mrs. Wanda Adams of Burlington, Mrs. Mary Maxine Davis of New Hope, Minn.; four brothers, Walter Totten of Oxnard, Calif., Floyd Totten of Vallejo, Calif., Barry [correct spelling "Perry"] Totten and Albert Totten, both of Napa, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. Annabelle Biggs of Fort Madison, Mrs. Georgia Davis of Oxnard, Calif. and Mrs. Erma Fritzgerald of Vallejo, Calif.; 29 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, one brother and two sisters.
