Mrs. Almeta Tobin

Mrs. Almeta Tobin, 74, 15 Storms Court, Fort Madison, died Monday, Feb. 24 at 7:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Hospital, following an illness of six years duration.

Born June 2, 1894 at Mt. Sterling, Iowa, she was the daughter of Franklin and Deborah Singleton Allen. She married John Tobin in 1933 and he preceded her in death in 1968. She was a member of the First United Methodist church and the Rebekah Lodge.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Katherine Pipes, Arlington, Va.; a stepson, John of Alsip, Ill.; a brother Charles of Roseville, Ill.; two sisters, Mrs. Alta Bridgham, Ft. Madison and Mrs. John Gibson, Earlville, Ill.; several nieces and nephews. The late Arthur Allen of Bonaparte was a brother.

The funeral service was held Thursday, Feb. 27 at 1:30 p.m. at Barr Memorial Chapel with the Rev. James Buikema officiating. Interment was in Hillcrest Memorial Park cemetery.
