WILLIAM J. SHUBERT

Funeral services for William Johnson Shubert, 78, were held Saturday, Dec. 21 at the Wellborn Funeral home at Milton, conducted by Rev. Richard Carpenter of the Keosauqua Congregational church. Burial was at the Sunnyside cemetery.

He died Dec. 19 at 4:30 p.m. at the Van Buren county Memorial hospital, after an illness of three years.

All of his early life was spent in Edina, Mo., until moving to Milton in 1920. He was married May 25, 1923 to Gertrude Abernathy, who died Feb. 16, 1960. He was also preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.

He is survived by one brother and two sisters.

He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
