Elmer Shaffer

Elmer Shaffer, 75, Birmingham, died Sunday evening at the Van Buren County Memorial Hospital, Keosauqua.

He was born Dec. 20, 1892, in Illinois, the son of Samuel and Mary Smith Shaffer. He was married to Rose Waddell, who died Nov. 20, 1967.

Surviving are 4 brothers, Howard, Centerville; Burl, Omaha, Nebr.; Earl, Lennox, and Floyd, Burlington; a sister, Mrs. Maude German, California; a half sister, Mrs. Lila Heck, Burlington, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at the Burch Funeral Home, Birmingham, with the Rev. Ora Reep, officiating, with second services at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Varner Funeral Home, Clearfield. Burial in Clearfield Cemetery.
