Raymond N. Taylor

Raymond N. Taylor, 53, of 561 North 17th St., Hamilton, Ill. died suddenly in Graham hospital in Keokuk at 9:35 a.m. Saturday, May 18, having been a patient in the hospital only a few hours.

The son of the late George N. and Gertrude Corban Fellows Taylor, he was born May 31, 1914, at Chenoa, Ill. He spent his childhood at Stockport and was a former resident of the Big Mound community and of Donnellson, moving to Hamiltn(err), Ill., in 1963.

On Sept. 15, 1933, at Pontiac, Ill., he married Frances Wilkins, who survives, as do two daughters, Mrs. Roy (Janet) Thacher of R.R. Argyle, and Mrs. Clinton (JoAnn) Ruff of R.R. 2, Keosauqua; his mother of S. Wilmington, Ill.; one brother, Russell Taylor of Broomfield, Colo.; and four grandchildren.

He was a truck driver for Farm Service and was of the Methodist faith.

He was preceded in death by his father and one sister.

Funeral services were held in Miller's Home for Funeral at Donnellson Tuesday, May 21 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. James Canny of Hamilton, Ill. officiating.

Mrs. Guy Harris Jr. sang "Just a Closer Walk With Thee" and "Beyond the Sunset," accompanied by Mrs. Robert Yoder.

Interment was in Embury cemetery, the following serving as bearers: Lewis Kennedy, Howard Thatcher, Kenneth McWhorter, Virgil Thon, Keith Peterie and Clinton Huff Jr.
