Elmer Salzman

Elmer A. Salzman, 71, died in Graham hospital, Keokuk, at 3:50 p.m. Monday, Jan. 6, after a long illness. For the past 20 years he had lived on a farm near Farmington, and had resided in Farmington for 10 years prior to moving to farm.

A native of Flanagan, Ill., Mr. Salzman was born June 11, 1892, the son of John and Anna Steinman Salzman. He was of the Mennonite faith.

Mr. Salzman was married to Florence Sloneker at Joliet, Ill., on Oct. 22, 1917. She survives, as do a son, Dr. John Salzman, Tucson, Ariz., and two grandchildren.

Three brothers and a sister also survive: Alie Salzman, Longview, Wash.; Elie Salzman, Rock Island, Ill.; Edwin Salzman, Winfield, and Mrs. Emma Wyse of Wayland. A sister died previously.

Last rites will be held at the Farmington Baptist church at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, the Rev. Eugene Shipp officiating. Burial will be in the Mennonite cemetery at Donnellson.
