Hilton H. Saltzgaver

Hilton H. Saltzgaver, 54, of Croton, died Wednesday, May 29, at 9:45 a.m. in St. Joseph Hospital, Keokuk. He had been ill one months, seriously a week.

He was born July 15, 1913 at Croton, the son of Lycurgus S. Saltzgaver and Ella M. Grant Saltzgaver.

On March 29, 1939 at Keokuk, he married Mildred Hartrick.

A lifelong resident of Croton, he owned and operated the Croton store the past 10 years. He served in World War II with the Navy.

He is survived by his wife and a son, Michael, who has been serving with the armed forces in Korea; a brother, Clair of Farmington, and a sister, Mrs. Elmer (Wilma) Hampton of West Point.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, two brothers.

The funeral service was Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Farmington Methodist church with the Rev. Harold Schirm officiating. Burial was in Croton cemetery.

Miller's Home for Funerals in Farmington was in charge of arrangements.
